Brixton’s Bryde has revealed her debut single ‘Wait’; a frosty, haunting track perfect for winter. The pared-down guitar and hazy, distorted backdrop sets off her crystalline vocals, only adding to their heart-wrenching quality and drawing us in. The track’s vulnerable beauty has echoes of Daughter’s 2013 LP, If You Leave, but it’s more complex than it first seems: atmosphere builds, and twinkling teardrops of light appear – an electronic sound that somehow feels totally organic.
